The Sundance Catalog Company has hired Restoration Hardware founder Stephen Gordon as its new CEO.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity at Sundance and am eager to help build upon its strong catalog business and well-respected brand,” said Gordon in a statement.
The Sundance CEO position became available in July 2004 when an investor group led by Webster Capital and ACI Capital purchased the interest held by the former CEO and became Robert Redford’s operating partners in Sundance’s catalog and internet business.
Restoration Hardware was founded over 20 years ago and went public in 1998. The Corte Madera, CA-based retailer and cataloger posted revenues in the $500 million range for 2004. Gary Friedman, Restoration Hardware’s president and CEO has been appointed interim chairman of the company’s board of directors.
