PEOPLE: Caples Awards Win LaMotta

The John Caples International Awards selected Connie LaMotta of LaMotta Strategic Communications Inc. to promote and publicize the annual event, which is now in its 23rd year.

LaMotta is quite excited about the pro bono account. “It’s the only truly creative awards for the direct marketing industry,” she says.

And, she notes, there’s plenty to publicize about the Caples nationally and internationally. “They are perhaps the first awards program to take entries online,” she says. “My role is to help get the message out, to push as much traffic as possible to the Caples site.”

She also is planning a campaign using past winners to generate interest in this year’s competition. In addition, she will publicize this year’s winners in their hometowns and countries.

LaMotta established her own agency in New York when she left the Direct Marketing Association earlier this year. At the DMA, one of her responsibilities was promoting the annual Echo Awards.
