Mortgage CPC Plummets

Efficient Frontier recently released its U.S. cost-per-click data for the month of December 2008.

The Mortgage category saw the biggest month-to-month change with a 34 percent drop to $1.47 in December from $2.23 during the previous month.

In November this category saw a 24 percent month-to-month decline. This is hardly surprising given the downfall of the housing industry.

The Total Finance category, which includes auto finance, banking, credit, financial information, insurance, lending and mortgage, saw its CPC decline to $1.45, a 13 percent drop from its $1.67 CPC in November.

Dating had a CPC of $0.30 in December, a 9 percent decline from November’s $0.33.

Travel’s CPC for December was $0.60, a 2 percent drop from November’s $0.61.

CPC for the Insurance category was $11.88 in December, up 2 percent from $11.61 in November.

Retail saw its CPC climb to $0.51 from $0.49 in November, a 4 percent climb.

The Automotive category saw its CPC increase to $0.50 from $0.48 during the prior month, a 4 percent increase.
