Specialists Purchases Transcontinental Direct

Specialists Marketing Services Inc. acquired list management and brokerage firm Transcontinental Direct List Services. Terms were not revealed.

Transcontinental vice president of list services Peter Candito and his staff will remain based in Bohemia, NY

“Our plan is to grow the B-to-B list business with the leverage of Specialists’ resources, systems and strong position in the marketplace,” Candito said in a statement.

The deal includes the Internet and Technology Marketplace database and several business-to-business list brokerage accounts. Several managed list properties, including the ITEC and ad:tech files, will move to Specialists as well.

Catalyst Acquires VeriMart Database

Catalyst Direct Inc. bought General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems’ Equient analytical services division for an undisclosed price.

The cash purchase includes the VeriMart U.S. household database, which Catalyst uses to provide list segmentation, profiling and modeling services.

“We’ve been working with Equient for about five years, said Catalyst managing director Mike Osborn. We’ll see an immediate positive cash impact this year.”

Equient operations manager Kevin Seaman will become Catalyst’s data and analytical services director. Seaman and 14 other employees from Equient will move to Catalyst’s Rochester, NY facility.
