Jeffrey Godsick has been named president of marketing at the new, unnamed joint venture between Twentieth Century Fox and Walden Media. The company will market family films produced by the two studios.

Godsick, who currently works as executive vice president of marketing for Twentieth Century Fox, will oversee the venture’s dedicated marketing, publicity and promotions staff. He will work out of the new Fox-Walden offices in Century City, CA. The position goes into effect in January.

The company’s first releases include Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, starring Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman and Jason Bateman, which hits theaters Nov. 16, 2007, and The Dark is Rising, which begins production next year.

Godsick joined Fox as senior vice president, publicity and promotions, before moving up to executive vice president-marketing. At Fox, he oversaw campaigns for a variety of movies, including Independence Day, The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, The Day After Tomorrow, the X-Men films, Cast Away, Ice Age, Minority Report, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Moulin Rouge and Walk the Line. Prior to that, Godsick worked as a senior executive at Rogers & Cowan.
