Equifax Sells Loan Software Firm To Italian Firm

Equifax Inc. will sell its Equifax Enabling Technologies LLC unit, to CRIF Corp., an affiliate of CRIF S.p.A., an Italian credit reporting firm.

Equifax Enabling Technologies main offering is its APPRO suite of loan origination software. The sales price is $72.4 million, and the transaction is expected to close this month.

Equifax intends to use the net proceeds from the transaction for general corporate purposes.

APPRO offers loan origination systems for financial institutions. The unit is based in Baton Rouge, LA.

CRIF Corp. provides decision support systems, business information solutions, credit management, direct marketing and credit collection services. CRIF S.p.A., is based in Bologna, Italy.
