Emails Sent Between 8 p.m. and Midnight Get the Best Open and Click Rates

According to a recent report from Experian CheetahMail, the best time to send emails is between 8 p.m. and midnight. During this portion of the day, email marketing campaigns in North America get the highest unique open rate, unique click rate, transaction rate, revenue per email and average order value.

Experian CheetahMail also found that emails got the best opens, clicks, transaction rate and revenue per email during Saturday and Sunday. However, average order value hit peaks throughout the week.

The “Quarterly Email Benchmark Study: Q4 2012” also found that email volume rose 5.4 percent year-over-year, while unique open rates increased 12.8 percent. Unique click and transaction rates remained steady, while revenue per email rose 8 percent year-over-year, from $0.13 to $0.14.
