EBay Income Surges in Quarter

EBay Inc. posted net income $1.4 billion for the fourth quarter, a 269% increase over net income of $367 million in the prior year.

The e-commerce company reported revenue of $2.4 billion for the quarter ended Dec, 31, a 16% increase over $2 billion the last year.

Management attributed these results in part to growth rates in its core EBay business, foreign currency fluctuations and other factors.
