Dan Abramson, a longtime direct marketing journalist, died April 3, of cancer.
In addition to reporting on direct marketing, Abramson co-founded The Walford Gazette, a fanzine dedicated to the British soap opera, Eastenders and British Television, a magazine covering British comedy programs run on American television stations. He was also becoming a well-known radio and television personality, commenting on British television for American audiences on PBS and on American television for British audiences on the BBC.
“Dan was a gifted all-around writer with a non-stop sense of humor,” said Ray Schultz, editorial director of DIRECT magazine. “It was a privilege to work with him for over 10 years. We have all lost a good friend and colleague.”
He is survived by his parents. No other details were available at deadline.
