Crown Royal Barbershop Sets Up at Oscars

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Crown Royal is setting up a barbershop as part of Red Carpet ’05, a week-long series of events providing an array of luxury products and services to help celebrities, industry leaders and VIPs prepare for The Oscars.

The Crown Royal Barbershop, handled by The GEM Group, Los Angeles, is a custom-tailored experience designed to bring the urban American barbershop to life through the eyes of the brand. It features a waiting area with music and haircuts from some of today’s hottest barbers, all in a relaxed pre-award show environment.

Set through Saturday in a suite at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, the barbershop will offer invited guests haircuts courtesy of Marc Anthony Hairstylists, the barbers and stylists of urban trendsetters such as Usher and Dwayne Martin.

In addition to the Crown Royal Barbershop, the brand will be showcased in the unique club environment of The Gentleman’s Suite, hosted by Crown Royal. The lounge, located near the Crown Royal Barbershop, will feature a DJ and Crown Royal drink specials.

A Crown Royal Barbershop was set up for in Manhattan last October 15 for a 30-day period, and GEM Group spokesman Josh Weissman says the firm plans to run such “pop-ups” in several other markets.
