Cinnabon Gives Away Cupcakes on Tax Day
To make Tax Day a bit more palatable, Cinnabon is reprising its “Tax Day Bites!” promotion to give away free sweets.
On April 15, from 6 pm to 8 pm mall-based Cinnabon bakeries, will give away bite-sized portions of its new cupcakes.
The giveaway serves as a way to not only get customers in to its stores, but to also tempt people to try its new product, Cinnabon Cupcakes. The cupcakes come in a variety of flavors: Cinnacake Classic, Chocolate Passion Vanilla Bliss, 24-Carrot Cake.
As part of the promotion, an online essay contest is running through April 15 for the chance to win a $100 gift card. In 500 words or less, entrants must explain why their life needs Cinnabon frosting.
To let people know about the promotion, the company is running PR, print, TV, radio and online media campaigns. It has also established partnerships with bloggers and is announcing the offer across Cinnabon’s Twitter [@CinnabonInc] and Facebook networks. In stores, menu panels will feature Tax Day Bites! the week of the promotion and campaign placement on the Cinnabon Web site.
Last year during tax season, 236 franchisees participated in the promotion, which treated customers to free samples of Classic Bites.
