British Post Office to Enter Telecom Arena

The British postal service has joined forces with Cable & Wireless to provide a fixed line phone service for millions of customers throughout the UK.

According to news reports, this is part of the Post Office’s plans to find new revenue sources in face of declining mail volume.

The Post Office has also chosen Ink fish to provide call center support and Serviette for customer care and billing services for the new venture, Homophone.

The new service will be available to 21 million customers who use BT (British Telecom) has a fixed line telephone provider and will launch early next year.
