The Boston Symphony Orchestra has sold about 200 concert tickets with a personalized TV-style Internet commercial. And it’s planning a second test in March, according to the orchestra’s director of sales and marketing Kim Notelmy.
Visitors were greeted by name in the spots and heard a real human voice rather than one generated by a computer. They also heard customized messages based on variables in the Boston Symphony’s database.
