Jared will also offer motivational messages to people randomly selected from the opt-in caller list. “January is that time of year for everybody [when it comes to dieting],” Subway spokesman Mack Bridenbaker said. “With Jared, we have the poster child for someone setting a goal and sticking to it. It’s the perfect fit.” As an extra incentive, every time consumers visit Subway restaurants between Jan. 2 and Feb. 19, they will receive a Fresh Resolutions instant-win game card. Subway launched the Fresh Resolutions promotion to help consumers with their dieting needs and boost its healthier menu options. The submarine sandwich franchise named Jared as its spokesperson in 2000 after he shed 245 pounds eating low-fat Subway sandwiches. Jared now maintains a healthy weight of 190 pounds standing at 6-feet-2-inches tall. He has served as an inspiration for others to lose weight.
