McDonald’s Running Low on Monopoly Game Pieces

According to news reports, Big Mac printed only 275 million game pieces for the four-week joint promo with Best Buy (Oct. 14 Xtra). McDonald’s distributed 400 million game pieces for its March-April 2003 Winning Time sweepstakes (May 2003 PROMO).

Big Mac also is verifying some potential big winners, per Dow Jones.

Players get a “Chance” game piece on large and super-size fry boxes to win “Best Buy Bucks” and gift cards. Each is a guaranteed winner worth $1, $5 or $10, or a gift card worth $50 or $5,000, redeemable in-store or at BestBuy.com. The Marketing Store Worldwide, Oak Brook, IL, handles.
