
Ken Calwell, the chief marketing officer for Domino’s Pizza has left the company after nearly seven years in the job.
The company would not comment on Calwell’s departure or the reason for it.
Patrick Doyle, president, Domino’s USA, will temporarily fill the position while a search to replace Calwell is underway. Prior to his current role, Doyle worked as the company’s marketing chief, as well as its executive vice president of international and Team USA. In addition to his work as president, he will take over direct supervision of all marketing functions, including the oversight of Domino’s partnership with its agency of record, Crispin, Porter + Bogusky.
Calwell started at Domino’s in July 2001 as executive vice president of build the brand, the firm’s top marketing post. The company later renamed that position chief marketing officer.
Prior to that, he was vice president – new product marketing, research and testing for Wendy’s International, Inc. In that role, Calwell was responsible for creating, developing, researching and testing new brands, sales, profit-building ideas and concepts.
Before joining Wendy’s in 1998, Calwell spent 10 years at Pepsico, Inc., two years as senior director of marketing for Frito-Lay and eight years in marketing roles at Pizza Hut.
