Consumers Vote for Oreo Idol

Kraft Foods is reprising its Oreo & Milk Jingle Contest for a second year, but this time, consumers pick the winner.

Musical duets, trios and quartets submitted their renditions of the Oreo song; five finalists have been posted at Oreo.com through July 20. Consumers enter part of an Oreo package UPC to vote for their fave; the top vote-getters win $10,000, a recording session for an Oreo radio spot, and a trip to Los Angeles to hang out with American Idol judge Randy Jackson, who hosts the Oreo contest for the second year.

An instant-win overlay will award 450 “Oreo & Milk Cookie Break” prize pack, including a package of Oreos, an Oreo cookie jar, four plates and cups, a disposable camera and picture frame.

All site visitors who vote are automatically entered in a sweeps awarding an L.A. trip to meet Jackson and the winning singers. D.L. Blair, Garden City, NY, handles.
