Bookscan, Ingram Team to Collect Industry Data

BookScan, a New York publishing information services provider, has joined with book wholesaler Ingram Book Co. to offer exclusive online point-of-sale data to the publishing industry.

BookScan will assume responsibility for collecting POS information from independent bookstore clients previously polled by Ingram’s RSVP service. The data will be added to BookScan’s online information system and provided to BookScan subscribers and Ingram’s publishing clients.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
