Mobile searchAccording to a study commissioned by YP and conducted by marketing consulting firm immr, 4 in 10 consumers use local search at least once a day. The study also found that 70 percent of smartphone owners use location-aware mobile apps. Also, to no one’s surprise, consumers who own a PC, smartphone and tablet conduct more local searches per week on average than consumers who own just a PC and smartphone or consumers who own a PC only. YP and immr also found that “avid local search users” are more likely to engage with mobile marketing efforts, as 8 in 10 of them click on mobile ads, while 3 in 4 have downloaded a brand app on their smartphone or tablet.
