Dial Corp. CEO Herbert Baum to Retire

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The Dial Corp.’s President and CEO Herbert M. Baum plans to retire from the consumer packaged goods company. He will remain on until a successor is found.

Baum is credited with being a driving force behind the company turnaround and its sale to the Henkel Group, a German detergents, cosmetics and adhesives maker. He has been CEO for the last five years.

“While my time with Dial has been extraordinarily rewarding, it has also been all consuming,” Baum said in a statement. “A successful integration is now underway and this is an excellent opportunity for me to focus on future goals.”

A search committee has been established to find a replacement, the company said.

The Scottsdale, AZ-based company’s products include Dial soap, Purex detergent and Renuzit air fresheners.
