Six Flags Culminates Fright Fest with Xbox 360 Demos, Concert

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Six Flags is building buzz around its final Halloween-themed Fright Fest celebration with an Xbox 360 game demo and a mini-concert at one of its parks Halloween night.

Guests who visit the Six Flags New England park can attend a private launch party around Xbox 360’s new game Gears of War, set to launch Nov. 7. Attendees can preview the action-horror game via hands-on demos from 5 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 31. Metal band Megadeth will debut the Gears of War soundtrack during a mini-concert for patrons. An online sweepstakes, which ended earlier this month, gave guests a chance to win a VIP trip for two to Six Flags New England to see the preview party and the concert.

This month, Six Flags kicked off its Fright Fest celebration with a cockroach-eating promotion that gave guests line-skipping privileges to anyone who ate a live Madagascar hissing cockroach. The stunt drew controversy from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which this week sent a letter to the park asking the company to change the promotion or to stop it altogether (PROMO Xtra, Sept. 29, 2006).

Online materials and park signage support the event.
