Schwan’s Offers Toyota Prius in Online Game

Schwan’s Consumer Brands North America is out with an online promotion that offers the chance to win a Toyota Prius and other instant-win prizes.

Visitors enter UPC codes from specially marked packages of Red Baron, Freschetta and Tony’s pizzas and play the instant-win game on the site through May 31.

One grand-prize winner will receive a 2009 Toyota Prius. Some 1,000 other instant-win prizes are up for grabs, including gas for a year, pizza for a year and $50 gas cards. Winners will be selected at random.

The firm is running print ads in People magazine in January and February, and is dropping two full-page FSIs with coupons for Red Baron and Freschetta pizza to market the promotion. On-pack materials on 30 million packages of the products, P-O-P and e-mail marketing will also support the campaign.

Schwan’s Consumer Brands is the retail grocery business unit of The Schwan Food Co. Its other brands include Wolfgang Puck gourmet pizzas, Asian Sensations snacks and appetizers and Larry’s potatoes.
