Coldwater Creek, Sandpoint, ID, has increased the number of outlet selections available to its Web shoppers from 70 items to more than 600. offering a substantially increased inventory of on-line merchandise in a fast, user-friendly e-commerce environment.
The company’s newly formed Internet Division completed the first phase of previously outlined Internet upgrades by increasing the number of outlet selections available to Web shoppers by more than 750%–from approximately 70 items to more than 600. The new site (www.coldwater-creek.com) provides real-time, on-line inventory, which allows customers to instantly determine the availability of any item prior to placing an order.
“[R]oughly 25% of our Web sales are coming from customers who discovered us for the first time on line,” Dennis Pence, CEO and president of the catalog’s Internet Division, said in a statement.
Coldwater Creek has budgeted $1 million to market the new site this fall, using the widespread reach of the Internet combined with catalog mailings and national print media to prepare for the Christmas season.
