Barefoot and Mindy Kaling Deliver Laughs to Sell Wine-to-Go

Posted on by Patty Odell

Mindy KalingWine and bubbly brand Barefoot has tapped actress/comedian Mindy Kaling to spread the word about Barefoot Wine-To-Go, a new product launched just in time for summer.

The wine is portable, packaged in an easy-to-hold carton that has a screwcap, is shatterproof and contains three glasses of wine. The packaging, with its bright colors and playful patterns like palm trees and flamingos, is designed to be Instagram worthy. There are three varietals—Moscato, Rosé, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay.

Kaling introduces the wine through a series of short and funny videos showing how hilariously difficult it would be to take three glasses of wine with her wherever she goes.

And in the third video, The Dressing Room, Kaling discovers that taking wine to a fancy awards show is not easy.

The series releases digitally across social media, Barefoot’s website and YouTube.

“At Barefoot, we love to give people new ways to enjoy wine, and Barefoot Wine-To-Go fits perfectly with that idea,” says Anna Bell, vp marketing at Barefoot.

Also this month, Barefoot resurfaced its  “Barefoot Bestie Labels,” for Pride Month. Wine enthusiasts can customize the label of their favorite bottle of wine with a rainbow label that includes a compliment for their bestie.

Those attending WorldPride in New York City this year, as well as Pride festivals in San Diego and Orlando, can create a digital label with an image of their face at one of Barefoot’s photo booths. They can then share the label on social.

For every label ordered, Barefoot will donate $1 to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation’s leading industry-based, non-profit AIDS organization, The Georgia Voice reported.
