Wal-Mart will host “Fresh Start for Spring” events this weekend in 1,000 stores with six sponsoring brands: Weight Watchers, Suave, Nature Made, Mott’s, Sunkist and WD-40.
The April 23 blitz is organized by ALL YOU magazine, published by Time, Inc. and sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. ALL YOU will follow up with a daylong in-store push in August, timed for back-to-school, and is setting its calendar for 2007. Its past in-store events have spurred double-digit sales increases for sponsoring brands on event day.
Each category-exclusive sponsor will demo and sample a single brand: Weight Watchers (yogurt), Suave (Advanced Therapy lotion), Nature Made (chewable Vitamin C), Mott’s (Mott’s Plus Light Juice), Sunkist (Almond Accents and pistachios) and WD-40 (No Mess Pen).
Two brand ambassadors in each store will represent each brand and distribute ALL YOU’s 48-page Your Fresh Start for Spring Companion Guide, with promotional pages from sponsors and stories on nutrition, beauty and finance. WalMart.com lists participating store locations.
