Twitter Cards Get Some Improvements: Mobile App Deep-Linking, 3 New Types of Cards

Twitter bird white on blueTwitter Cards, which help developers richly display their content within tweets on the Web and on mobile devices, got some nifty improvements on Tuesday. The social network, which says more than 10,000 developers utilize Twitter Cards, announced mobile app deep-linking in Cards. Though it might sound ubernerdy, it’s a feature that enables users to tap a link and be taken to content that lives within an app or be taken to the App Store or Google Play where they can download the app. This will close “the loop between content creation, content discovery and app downloads,” according to Jason Costa on Twitter’s Developers blog.
