Turner Joins NASCAR Team

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. and a number of its networks have signed on as associate sponsors of the No. 60 Charter Racing Ford Taurus through the end of the NASCAR racing season, said car sponsor Charter Communications, Inc.

The networks include CNN, CNNfn, Cartoon Network, Headline News and TBS. The affiliation debuted with the Cartoon Network logo displayed as secondary sponsor of No. 60 for the NASCAR Busch Series race Sept. 3 at the California Speedway in Fontana. The car featured the Headline News logo over the Charter paint scheme as primary sponsor of the Sept. 10 race in Richmond, VA.

In races featuring a dedicated CNN paint scheme, fans attending the races and watching on TV will see the CNN logo on the hood and other areas of the car driven by Greg Biffle. Designed to tie in with CNN’s election coverage, “America Votes 2004” will appear below the logo on the hood, and “CNN The Race Is On!” will appear on the rear bumper.

For those races where Turner is a secondary sponsor, the name of the featured network (Cartoon Network, Headline News, CNNfn and TBS) will be prominently displayed below the primary sponsor on the front hood and on the rear quarter panels.
