The Kmart Rewards Credit Card Makes its Debut

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Kmart has launched a branded loyalty credit card.

The card offers $10 off the first card purchase of $50 or more and a $10 reward for every $250 in account purchases after that.

Kmart hopes the offering of the reward card will help “retain and better serve” existing customers, the company said.

By mining its customer database, the company plans to develop numerous promotion offers for the cardholders based on individual customer purchasing habits. The program is being managed by HSBC-North America’s retail services business.

Promotional merchandise and marketing firm Sunrise Identity has hired Nelson Jay as VP-marketing and communications.

The new program will be marketed via in-store promotion, print and online advertising beginning this week.
