Rapp Collins Tops in Billings

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Rapp Collins Worldwide, with $1.615 billion in billings in 1997, leads the list of top 10 agencies, according to the Direct Marketing Association’s annual direct response agency report. Rapp Collins was followed by Wunderman Cato Johnson ($1.614 billion), OgilvyOne Worldwide ($1.3 billion), DraftWorldwide Inc. ($1.26 billion), Bronner Slosberg Humphrey Inc. ($675.3 million), FCB Direct ($557.8 million), Grey Direct Marketing Group Inc. ($550.3 million), DiMark ($503.6 million), Blau Marketing Technologies Inc. ($503.6 million) and McCann Relationship Marketing ($473.6 million). But for FCB Direct moving from ninth to sixth place and Blau and DiMark’s virtual tie for eighth place becoming an actual tie, the order closely follows last year’s results. Eighty-one percent of the agencies that submitted billings to the DMA reported increases in 1997 over 1996. In addition, 20 agencies submitted international DR billings.
