Kids Get Tutenstein Comic Books to Promote TV Show

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Discovery Kids is using a comic book created especially for its Tutenstein TV series to get kids interested in the show.

More than 1 million comic books, created in a partnership with Marvel Comics, are being distributed by Discovery Education as part of an in-school kit that includes a poster and a Tutenstein book cover. The kit reaches third through sixth grade classrooms.

In addition, Discovery Kids tomorrow hits the road with its TUTmobile unit heading to markets in Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, CO and Charlotte, NC. Kids will find activities, games, prizes as the tour visits festivals, shopping malls, soccer tournaments, amusement parks, zoos and other venues. The events will be cross promoted with local cable affiliates, local NBC affiliates, Radio Disney and others. The tour ends Oct. 10.

Tutenstein airs Saturday mornings on Discovery Kid on NBC and weeknights on the Discovery Kids Channel. It is the story of a 10-year-old Pharaoh nicknamed Tutenstein who awakens from the dead in present day.
