Chrysler Uses CDs as Giveaways

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

DaimlerChrysler is using a CD giveaway to drive sales of its used specialty vehicles.

The offer is promoted in dealerships nationwide.

DC Specialty Vehicles have been previously used on a limited basis by dealers as demos, on loan to celebrities and municipalities for promotions or for short-term leases. The low-mileage cars are reworked by adding additional features such as rims, flat screen monitors and specialty exhaust systems.

Consumers purchasing the vehicles will receive the America Will Always Stand CD created by Time Life. CDs are being distributed through Mar. 30.

As part of the promotion, a dealership incentive program awards points for each vehicle sold. The points can then be redeemed for prizes such as trips to the Grand Ole Opry and Dodger Stadium, concert tickets, CDs and baseball memorabilia signed by legendary players like Ted Williams. Total prize giveaways are valued at $10,000.
