Shopkick Is the No. 1 Most Used Shopping App in the U.S. in Terms of Engagement

Shopkick logoAccording to Nielsen, Shopkick is the No. 4 shopping app in terms of reach among smartphone users in the U.S. Amazon is No. 1 with a 19 percent reach, followed by eBay with 17 percent, Groupon with 13 percent and Shopkick with 10 percent. Starbucks (8 percent), Walgreens (6 percent), Barcode Scanner (6 percent) and Target (5 percent) followed.

However, when it comes to engagement, Shopkick ranks No. 1. The company saw the average time spent with its location-based shopping app hit 2:37 (hours:minutes) in December. eBay, RetailMeNot, Sephora, Amazon, Safeway, Groupon and Kroger followed.

Shopkick also led all shopping apps in terms of sessions and session length in December.

The company recently announced that the fourth quarter of 2012 was its first profitable quarter. It drove more than $200 million in revenue for its retail partners and brands in 2012.

Shopkick was named a Dealies Award winner for “Best Mobile App” by DM Confidential in November.
