Shameless Plug – Daily Deal Summit West 2011

Posted on

All this talk of the daily deal space has reminded us that we have not had a proper shameless plug in quite some time – no solo emails, no major plugs in articles, or the like. Well, it’s time to rectify that. We expect to see you two weeks from today in San Francisco at Daily Deal Summit West. Everything you need to know is below. Make us proud.

Price
Being a money oriented crowd, we’ll start here. The $545 rate was extended through this Friday, but since you expect even more, we’re happy to give you even more. DMConfidential readers won’t pay $545 not $495 or even $445. You can pay the almost too generous rate of $395. As is the case with any event we promote, admission includes access to all sessions, networking events, expo hall, and meals. It’s worth $545 or more, so book now before we change our minds. Sessions & Speakers
Daily Deal Summit West features 60+ amazing executiveson stage discussing everything from consolidation to card-linking. What is amazing about this show are the number of changes that have taken place in the last six months since the very first Daily Deal Summit in New York. It was probably a forgone conclusion that Groupon might try to IPO after rejecting Google’s $6billion dollar bid, but were people to have given their best guess six months later, most would have assumed Groupon having gone public, LivingSocial to have followed suit and the momentum in the deal space to be as strong as ever. This, though, is anything but the case. The big “G” is faltering while LivingSocial quietly cranks. The other big “G”, Google has entered full bore while Facebook has pulled back. To make matters even more confusing, more sites are closing than starting. Where does it all go? This is the place to find out. View the agenda and speakers.

Event Location
Rack up a whole bunch of new clients in the heart of San Francisco at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco, 55 Fourth St., San Francisco, CA. It’s that big hotel you never have drinks at during ad-tech but always pass on the way to and from Moscone. Might not be as hip as the W, but it has a much better conference space… and you can still go to the W after for drinks for old times sake.

Companies Attending
It’s all about who you will get a chance to meet, and here you can meet more than 200 different companiesall with ties to the deal space. While content junkies like us look more heavily at the speakers and sessions, those in our space has a much more tactical approach – partnerships and clients. If there is one thing that so many of those in the deal space need, it is customer acquisition guidance. It’s amazing how many have done a good job at breaking into a market, signing up sales but yet lack any notion of a funnel for users. Those in the performance marketing space have a the chance to act not only as vendor’s but sherpas. Some of the companies attending have created some amazing technology solutions and really innovated on what is possible with the notion of deals. We’re seeing the space is less and less about click and print and much more about innovation in acquisition and retention. Some of these companies will definitely change the way our space thinks about the deal space.
