BMG Direct, New York, a division of BMG Entertainment, recently suspended its new online music club OnePriceCDs and took the Web site offline in response to industry concerns. CEO George McMillan said that based on conversations with record labels, the artist community and BMG Distribution, adjustments were necessary for the venture to achieve its goals and to secure the needed support of key members of the music community. Subject to ongoing discussions, BMG hopes to reformulate and relaunch the site, the company said. The site, which debuted Oct. 10, offered more than 12,000 CD titles.
