Nickelodeon Names New Marketing VP for Preschool and Parenting

Jose Carbonell has been named vice president of pre-school parenting brand marketing for the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

Carbonell will be charged with coordinating cross-business marketing programs, on-air events and consumer and trade advertising efforts for Nickelodeon and Noggin pre-school properties, including “Dora the Explorer” and “The Backyardigans Live Tale of the Mighty Knights” stage tour.

He will also work with outside agencies to develop long-term brand positioning in existing and future Nick properties.

Carbonell comes to Nick from Hartz-Mountain, where he was senior marketing director. He was responsible for meeting financial targets for all pet grooming, stain and odor and puppy pad products.

Prior to his position at Hartz-Mountain, Carbonell held several positions at French Foods, leading brands that included French’s Mustard and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce.

He has also held marketing posts at Kraft, Welch’s Co. and Toys R’ Us.
