Subway has signed one of the contestants, Shay Sorrells, on the hit NBC series, “The Biggest Loser” as a spokesperson during 2010.

Sorrells began her experience as the heaviest contestant in the show’s history, weighing 476 pounds. By this week’s season finale she had lost 172 pounds weighing in at 304 pounds.

Under the deal, Subway will pay her $1,000 for every pound she loses through the Season 9 finale in May 2010. Sorrells accepted the new challenge during the show’s live season finale.

The partnership includes, in-show and online integration throughout Season 9 of “The Biggest Loser,” as well as a mid-season weigh-in and follow up package. People will also be able to follow her progress at www.SubwayFreshBuzz.com, NBC.com and BiggestLoser.com.

She joins Jared Fogle who in 1998 began his own journey with a dramatic 245-pound weight loss, crediting Subway sandwiches and exercise as key factors in changing his lifestyle.
