N2K Expects 4Q Sales to Be Up 325%

Music marketer N2K Inc., New York, said revenue from its online division, the Music Boulevard Network, for the 1998 fourth-quarter is expected to increase 325% to about $17 million from $4 million for the same period last year. Music Boulevard sales for the holiday season increased over three times from last year. Revenue for the year is expected to be about $42 million, up from $8.1 million in 1997.

Revenue from its discontinued operation, N2K Encoded Music, for the fourth quarter is expected to be about $1 million, versus about $800,000 the prior year.

In October, N2K and CDnow Inc. announced they would merge.

N2K expects to report full results the first week of February.
