MAPS Debuts New Master Service to Identify Spammers

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Mail Abuse Prevention System, Redwood City, CA, has released the RBL + Master Service. The service combines access to MAPS’ three databases: the Realtime Blackhole List, the Relay Spam Stopper List, and the Dial-Up User List. Subscribers to the RBL + Master Service can access all three databases with a single query.

The anti-spam group maintains the databases, which contain the Internet Protocol addresses of Internet sites that are deemed spammers for not following MAPS’ suggested e-mail abuse policies. Subscribers use the information in these databases to decide whether or not to accept e-mail from those listed.
