Live from Washington: DMA Forms Catalog and Mail Committee

The Catalog and Mail Order Segment Advisory Committee, the second of eight committees to be formed, has been formed by the Direct Marketing Association.

The committee was formed to provide the DMA board of directors with industry expertise in key areas, it was announced yesterday at the Direct Marketing Association Government Affairs Conference 2000 in Washington, DC.

Heading the committee is Gordon Cooke, CEO of The J. Jill Group. Ben Perez, president of Millard Group Inc., has been named co-chair. Both are DMA members.

The seven other members, also drawn from DMA membership, include; William T. End, CEO, International Cornerstone Group; Lucinda Heekin, president, Last Best Place Catalog; George Ittner, president and CEO, Newport News; Theodore A. Pamperin, chairman, American Catalog Partnerships; Peter G. Rice, president, Plow & Hearth Inc.; Randy Ronning, president, catalog and distribution, JC Penney Co. Inc.; and Charles Silver, vice president, marketing, Bloomingdale’s by Mail Ltd. and chair, DMA Catalog Council.

The first committee, the Internet Segment Advisory Committee, was formed last month. Council members are selected by the DMA’s board of directors.
