G-III/Carl Banks Teams With NASCAR

G-III/Carl Banks has joined forces with NASCAR to create the sport’s first fashion line apparel for the multi-cultural consumer. The men’s and women’s collection that will be available for Fall 2004.

“I am extremely excited about this partnership,” said Carl Banks, president of Sports Licensing for G-III. “I strongly believe that the appeal of today’s NASCAR driver transcends all cultural boundaries. There is such a cool lifestyle element to these drivers, and our objective is to communicate that energy through this apparel.”

The NASCAR collection consists of track suits with logos emblazoned on the chest and down the arms, colorful tees with appliques, fleece and cotton sweatpants, hoodies, printed twill woven shirts, team hats and wool outerwear. Appliqués and printed logos feature sponsors like Mobil1, Autolite, Edelbrock, Federal-Mogul, Raybestos and Wix.

The collections, which target the 18-44 age group, will retail from $20.00 to $125.00 and will be sold at Macy’s West, Bon Marche and select mid-tier and specialty retailers nationwide.
