Okay, so maybe the fact that companies worldwide are projecting increase digital marketing spending this year isn’t all that startling. But newly released survey data provides some interesting insight on where exactly all those dollars are going.
The ExactTarget Marketing Cloud 2014 State of Marketing Survey of 2,500 marketers globally revealed plans to increase investments in data and analytics (61%), marketing automation (60%), email marketing (58%), social media marketing (57%) and content management (57%).
Top priorities for marketers this year include increasing conversion rates (47%), improving brand awareness (46%), and collecting, measuring and using behavior-based data (29%).
Eighty-six percent of marketers surveyed said their social efforts will or do provide ROI, while 80% said the same of mobile.
For confirmation of this, check out a recent infographic from Uberflip, which points out that 90% of Americans use multiple devices throughout the day, 88% own at least two devices, and 60% use more than one device while watching TV.
“As the number of connected devices and mobile phones continue to skyrocket, marketers are investing aggressively in digital to connect with their customers in entirely new ways across every channel and every device,” said Scott Dorsey, CEO of ExactTarget Marketing Cloud, in a statement.
