CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER LEAVES CINGULAR

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Virginia Vann, chief marketing officer for Atlanta-based Cingular Wireless last week announced intentions to step down. Vann joined Cingular in mid-2000 after working at various divisions of SBC (which owns 60 percent of Cingular). A replacement search has begun, and in the mean time, Vann’s group will report to coo Mark Feidler. Vann left to pursue other interests and will work for Cingular on a consulting basis until the end of the year, according to a company spokesperson.

The announcement followed the appointment of Stan Sigman as president and ceo, replacing Stephen Carter, who took a senior executive position at SBC Wireless-where Sigman previously served as group president and ceo.
