America’s National Parks Entice Summer Travelers

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

As part of an initiative to get travelers to explore America’s 388 national parks, the National Park Service and the Travel Industry Association of America have embarked on a national campaign to promote the country’s lesser-known parks.

The See America’s National Parks campaign has an online component at seeamerica.org/ where travelers can find travel itineraries in the parks, special deals and search functions that allow people to find a park by various criteria, including activity, location and ZIP code. Travelers can select their favorite activities and find national parks to suit, or, they can type in a zip code and locate all national parks within a specified driving range of their home or vacation destination.

The campaign is being supported by an online sweeps at nationalparks.org/sweepstakes/ that runs from now through July 5. Grand-prize winners will be announced on the Travel Channel beginning July 5 during the Amazing Americathon and all week through July 9. Five grand-prize winners will win transportation for four provided by American Airlines to one of five national parks (Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon and New Orleans Jazz), car rental from Hertz, lodging for four, a Kodak digital camera package, a gift certificate to Discovery Channel stores and a year subscription to magazine.

Farmington Hills, Mi-based ePrize handles the sweepstakes.
